Cell Phone Recycling Campaign
Purchasing Services and Supplier Management invite the University purchasing community to support the University-wide Cell Phone Recycling Campaign which is being sponsored by Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD).
The University of Pittsburgh’s Cell Phone Recycling Campaign commences on Earth Day, April 22nd and will continue until June 5th, World Environment Day.
Recycle Your Old Cell Phones at Locations Across Campus
From April 22 to June 5, University students, faculty, and staff can recycle old cell phones, PDAs, and accessories at the following drop-off locations across campus:
- Any campus computing lab
- Craig Hall (first floor)
- Hillman Library
- Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation (153 Benedum Hall)
- Software Licensing Services (204 Bellefield Hall)
- Towers Lobby
- University Book Center
- William Pitt Union
All cell phones placed in drop boxes will be processed by eLoop llc, a DEP-permitted recycling facility in Pittsburgh. Any data left on the cell phones will be securely destroyed prior to the recycling process. For details and a map of drop-off locations, please visit technology.pitt.edu.
