Important information concerning University supplier ATCC


Because of the failure of a University purchaser to abide by the terms of the American Type Culture Collection ("ATCC") Material Transfer Agreement ("MTA"), ATCC has required the University to adopt more stringent procedures to demonstrate that University researchers understand the terms of the ATCC MTA. Effective immediately, ATCC will no longer accept phone or internet orders from the University of Pittsburgh. Only faxed orders sent from the University's Purchasing Department with prior approval from the Department of Environmental Health and Safety will be accepted. The Purchasing Department will only process purchase orders for ATCC when a paper requisition is used, and such requisition is accompanied by a completed Verification of Compliance with Material Transfer Agreement form, which is available on the Environmental Health and Safety website.
