Cyndee Pelt
- Chief of Staff
Cyndee is responsible for supporting the SVC/CFO’s internal and external roles including connecting all major strategic, financial, and enterprise risk processes across the University. In addition to her chief of staff role, she also teaches a graduate-level course on U.S. Foreign Assistance Analysis at both Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Cyndee worked at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. for over 10 years – most recently serving as the senior advisor on democracy, human rights and governance in the Office of U.S. Foreign Assistance Resources. In this position, she provided policy recommendations and analysis to senior leadership within the Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to ensure that the U.S. assistance budget of over $35 billion is aligned with foreign policy and development objectives.
She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on international development from American University and a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
