Many departmental event planners use the services of Signature Venues, local venues with whom the University has an established master agreement, for special events and meetings. Specific services are based on each event planner's requirements. Cost will vary depending upon:
- Facility availability
- Room types
- Group size
- Lead time
- Reservation source (though travel agency or not)
Contracts with a Signature Venue, formally known as a Local Venue, use a University-approved template for the Event Master Agreement which complies with University contracting standards. All contracts with a Signature Venue must use the event agreement template.
The benefits of selecting a Signature Venue include convenience and streamlined processing. Contracts with Signature Venues valued under $10,000 may be signed by a Departmental Approver and the Venue and do not require signatures from Purchasing Services.

If your booking is $10,000 or under and you select one of the Signature Venues listed above:
- contact the venue,
- make your arrangements,
- obtain the University-established event agreement from the venue,
- confim that the form of the agreement is the same as the event agreement template shown for the venue listed above, and
- have the agreement signed by a person with signature authority in your department.
