About Us

The role of the SVC/CFO’s office is to align the University’s finances with its highest priorities. The office manages an annual operating budget of $3.0 billion and handles the investment strategy for the University’s $5.5 billion endowment. Through the many functions of the SVC/CFO’s office, which include payroll, purchasing, risk management, capital and liquidity management, student financial services and tax matters, the University has an economic impact on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that totals $5.2 billion.

The Office of the SVC/CFO is committed to furthering the University’s strategic plan – the Plan for Pitt, which identifies how and where Pitt wants to improve with a focus on Our People, Our Programs and Our Purpose.

Members of the SVC/CFO’s office work cooperatively to ensure resources are leveraged strategically, effectively, and efficiently in support of the University’s mission by providing exceptional expertise, enabling collaborative stewardship of financial resources, and building lasting partnerships across Pitt.
